Traveling back in the day I had no real choice of what kind of spray paint I would use or if I even found any. I had no magazine name fame and could not get introductions until I would prove myself. I would do these ugly in-between throw up and piecing letters to show that I was more than a bomber. This was my calling card to who I was and where I came from to the local graff community ... This was the case in every town so I would use just about anything to get my name up: rocks, brush, stickers, chisels, and cheap spray paint (that was more like watercolors) You name it I used it. I would hang with non graff artists while painting and hoping to meet the local graffiti writers which in the end, not hanging with the graff heads, was a benefited to me as a person and to my art experiments...

The Nazca Lines are a series of ancient geoglyphs, they are hundreds of individual figures and range in complexity from simple lines to stylized hummingbirds, spiders, monkeys, fish, sharks, orcas, llamas, and lizards. The Nazca Culture flourished between 300 BCE and 800 AD. Living in arid deserts they mastered the art of water management, the underground aqueducts they made still function for the proof of its efficacy.

" Land art is to be understood as an artistic protest against the perceived artificiality, plastic aesthetics and ruthless commercialization of art at the end of the 1960s in America. Exponents of land art rejected the museum or gallery as the setting of artistic activity and developed monumental landscape projects which were beyond the reach of traditional transportable sculpture and the commercial art market."

Sometimes the way to see ones work is to let it out of sight for a while. In the graffiti world that's the easiest part of the process. It gets painted over by the city, critiqued by other graffiti writers, now, any one trying to be an urban artist will not even think twice of going over your work. But if you happen to get a photo then you can at least have of reference to study from, a fossil if you will, to see the evolutionary and technological paths you have taken. Not to mention evidence for those fickle written histories that are often incomplete and invariably biased to some extent. There will always be a sediment for those that dig for ore, that guts of a thing, the bone marrow, an atom to actually split breath to new half lifes. They will know, that once in the face of it all you tried to speak; be it truth, poetry, art, comedy, a tearjerker, bad writing, what you will. With courage in one hand and foolishness in the other. A heart of passion with eyes ablaze in madness. You went and did it, with what meager scraps that you could find. And bare witness they shall, to a voice that once sang, "a little off key perhaps" but sang none the less, in this fragile place that we call home: the small water planet, earth. Until then, You, my friends, are the few that can enjoy a sampler now. And thank you for the support.

ON GALLERY, and VIRTUOSO STUDIOS. The galleries are all located in Chinatown, 323 -325 NW 6th, Portland, OR 97209 (between Everett and Flanders), and the event takes place on the popular First Thursday.
Artists ANGELA BOATRIGHT, ELYEM, SOUTHER SALAZAR, TOO TALL JAHMAL, and YOSKAY YAMAMOTO will be in attendance. DJ RAD! And DOCTOR ADAM will be spinning.

For Installation 5 each artist was asked to create his or her literal, or non-literal interpretation of the theme 'Self-Portraits'. Video art will be included for the first time in the tour’s five-year history, alongside painting and photography. Artists on
